One minor complaint that I have with this release is you can't turn off the Italian subtitle. Otherwise, it's a pretty solid release from what I can tell.

Episode 1 Impression

Alpen Rose Judy @ Slice of Leisure

This series manages to hook you right from the first episode. The animation is obviously dated but I think it can give some of the 90's anime a run for it's money, thanks to Akemi Takada's character design. It's really quite stylish and attractive. The BGM is really outstanding and fit the mood of scenes appropriately.

The episode begins with a childhood flashback between Judy (the main female protagonist) and Randy (male protagonist) and how they met. And then the main story starts 5 years later when they are older.

Alpen Rose Judy @ Slice of Leisure
Randy and Judy was to meet together again for the first time in 5 years. While Randy was waiting for Judy to get off work, he spots a mysterious blond man on a horse with a rifle by the name of Count Gourmon. He then aims at Pritemps, Judy's bird friend and was about to take a shot.... until Randy steps in to save Pritemps. Judy now arrives and sees Randy in trouble. Count Gourmon gets highly offended and kidnaps Judy to his mansion.

At the mansion they force Judy to dance and play the her flute, which was given to her by Randy. The mansion is full of Nazi uniforms and Judy starts having a horrible flashback. During the dance scene, Randy is caught looking through the window from the outside. Count Gourmon then shoots him but misses while Randy falls down to the ground below. Judy somehow escapes outside and meets up with Randy.

Again, the first episode managed to hook me right from the beginning. It's easy to hate Count Gourmon and that's why he should make a great villain that will add spice to this series. I think Randy and Judy are absolutely adorable together as well. I look forward to watching the rest.
