The Japanese online service company NEC BIGLOBE has announced on that it will email a new original anime Yutori-chan to users starting March 2010. BIGLOBE claims that this is the first anime to be distributed by email, although what will actually be sent in each email message from the fictional character Yutori-chan to users is... a URL address to a video. Along with the videos and the email messages, the project will feature "chats" with the characters, mini-games, presents from the characters, morning wake-up calls, vocal dramas, and other items.

It's being directed by Keiichiro Kawaguchi and the animation company is Actas. (Source: ANN)

Summary:
The story centers around Yutori-chan, a high school girl assigned to a part-time job in the marketing team of a medium-sized toy company called Popu. There, she deal with the generation gaps that separate her from Tsumekomi-chan (another part-time worker and a student at Japanese's most prestigious university, "T Dai") and Daikai-san (the regular employee who oversees Yutori-chan).

Main characters and seiyuu:
Yutori-chan - voiced by Aoi Yuki
Dankai-san - voiced by Akeno Watanabe
Tsumekomi-chan - voiced by Kana Hanazawa

Thoughts?
Luna: I'll leave this in the TV section because I am interested in this series. Anime distribution through e-mail sounds interesting - I wonder if they will send out links to stream or download. Regardless, I am really hoping that it's NOT like Moetan, as far as ecchiness goes. I really like the cute visuals of POP. And do I need to mention Kana Hanazawa?
