Episode 1 - "Good Morning-san"

 The first episode is an introduction for Fujiwara Satoko a.k.a. "Petoko". She got the nickname because she belongs to a specified race (or youkai) called... well, Petopeto. This specified race stick to other living things when making physical contact. Petoko explains that the reason they stick to other people is to trap potential lovers, which is how her mother (also a youkai) trapped her dad (human). The only way to separate is to fall asleep.

We are also introduced to another youkai, Sahara Kuguru, who is a kappa. And a male protagonist by the name of Shingo Oohashi, who is a normal human. All three of them get acquainted quite fast thanks to them sticking to Petoko.

The last time I saw this series was back in 2005 and it brings back good memories. I'm fascinated by youkais and this series portrays them with cuteness and warmth. This series also contains a theme of discrimination between humans and youkais. I'll be blogging about this series and the R2 disc contents so keep checking back. ^^
